With the help of a group of 15 student volunteers, bikes are identified as abandoned and unwanted, previously remaining unused and eventually disposed of. Uni-Cycle collects these unwanted bikes and, with the help of a qualified bike mechanic, repairs them and gets them back in use. Bikes that are beyond repair are used for spare parts, very little goes to waste. The student volunteers then run events where the repaired bikes are sold and also organise a monthly ‘Bike Doctor’ event, where staff and students can bring their bikes for free tune ups and MOTs.
