Not Just Trash

The idea behind Not Just Trash has been a well-kept secret for a long time and grew over the years by the sheer frustration of seeing littering all over my neighbourhood. Walking my dog in the nearby wood, I was faced by fly-tipping and daily, was coming home with bags full of rubbish of all sorts.
I sensed a creative solution could be found and with a background in Art and Design, I soon found solace into turning a negative into a positive. Transforming all this waste into beautiful and desirable objects or eye-catching projects gave me a tangible reward. Now, I am not litter picking but I am harvesting and all the narrative has shifted into an opportunity. By sharing my passion, I hope to inspire or have a lasting impact at reconsidering the true value of what we are so keen to discard. It’s only rubbish when we make it so!

Darn it 'n Stitch

Sing for Earth Pop–up group

We are an informal group of people who get together to sing at environmental events and protests in the Southampton area. We are open to anyone who wants to sing. We often learn songs as we go along. Some songs are well known tunes with new words some are old protest songs, some are lovely simple harmony songs written for our present situation.

No regular meetings. Join the email group and you’ll hear about anything that I am organising.

(See some of us in this video A concert for Earth Day 2022 in the Art Gallery )

Led by Maggie O’Connor, Natural Voice Practitioner, Community Musician and Leader of Blue Sky Choir

Let me know you are interested and I will put you on the list. Or email me for more info.
