Green Living Group (City Centre Catholic Parish & Avenue St Andrew’s United Reformed Church)

We are people who are trying to live sustainably and act on the climate crisis, both as individuals, and through taking a lead in our church communities on these issues.

Many of us were challenged by working through the Green Living Guide together on zoom during Covid. This group has grown and developed from that learning experience. We meet monthly for mutual encouragement, to spark ideas off each other and to plan joint actions.

In 2023 our churches achieved Eco Church Bronze Awards and we are now working towards Silver. This involves action on buildings, land, lifestyles, joining campaigns (global and local), and reflecting on climate and sustainability issues in worship.

Our churches’ websites detail the particular emphases of each.

If you would like more information, or would like to share your experiences of addressing climate and sustainable living within a faith community, please get in touch.
