Southampton Cycling Campaign *Bonus Day Ride* to Lepe
Sunday 03 May 2026
09:45 to 17:00
Sunday 3rd May: All day(ish) ride : 9.45 for 10am prompt depart. Allow extra time as there'll be closed roads as it's marathon day, so you may get very held up by runners (or get clear roads). Since the official Isle of Wight Randonnée has been moved to September, this "mainland-side" coastal loop is a way to keep our Spring tradition alive. It offers those same great Solent views and a fantastic mix of New Forest lanes and Waterside paths.
The Outward Journey: We’ll meet at the Ship Inn, Redbridge, crossing the Redbridge Causeway cycle path into Totton. From Eling, we’ll head south towards Marchwood, and onto Twigs Lane. We’ll join Beaulieu Road and turn onto Hatchet Lane. We can stop in Beaulieu for a quick break if needed, followed by a slight climb just before we turn into Exbury Road. From Exbury, we follow the Inchmery Lane coastal path all the way down to the shoreline at Lepe Country Park. You can either bring your own refreshments to enjoy by the water or head up to The Lookout Café for hot food, coffee, and cake. The Return Journey: We’ll depart via Lepe Road, heading through Blackfield and Holbury. We turn onto Chapel Lane (past the cemetery), navigating through Kings Copse Road and Rollestone Road towards Dibden. Then head back through Marchwood and Eling to finish the loop in Southampton.
