MARCH & COUNTER-PROTEST – FRIDAY 21st, 5 PM
Portswood is standing up again.
For weeks, the far-right “Southampton Patriots” have gathered outside the Highfield House Hotel - home to asylum seekers - spreading hate and intimidation. After their protests, they’ve marched through Portswood shouting racist abuse, targeting Muslims, and harassing people of colour.
But last Friday, we changed the story.
Our peaceful march and counter-protest sent a powerful message: Portswood will not be bullied. United, we walked to the hotel and back - standing with refugees, migrants, and every member of our diverse community. And for the first time in weeks, the “Patriots” did not rampage through our streets.
We’re doing it again.
