From Plankton to Plate: Exploring Marine Food Chains and the Future of Fisheries

📅 Wednesday, 19 November 2025 | 18:00–21:00

📍 Sir James Matthews Building, Southampton (SO14 7NN)

From Plankton to Plate explores how ocean life — from microscopic plankton to fish, whales, and the communities that depend on them — connects to the future of global fisheries.

The event brings together experts from across the University to explore research at different levels of the marine ecosystem, as well as within fisheries, fishing communities, and wider systems. Speakers will highlight actions we are, or should be, taking to sustain both ocean life and human livelihoods.

Reserve your free place on Eventbrite — anyone welcome, spaces are limited.
