SoCAN: Southampton Climate Action Network

Join our Mothers* Rebellion for climate justice on Sunday 22nd September, 1pm-2:30pm, in Guildhall Square Southampton.

This will be followed by a Kidical Mass cycle ride (meeting at 2pm and riding at 2:30pm) for anyone who wants to join both family friendly actions.

Mothers* Rebellion is a global peaceful family friendly protest where a circle of mothers* (and allies) sit down together in a public place, facing the passers-by, with signs sharing the reason we are here.

That weekend is the first UN Summit of the Future and beginning of the first Global Week of Action for Peace and Climate Justice, so this Mothers* Rebellion will be highlighting how war and climate injustice are affecting mothers and children across the globe.

Our message is that we refuse to look away, that we refuse to give up and that we will do everything we can for the lives and future of our children.

Children, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, pets are all welcome - anyone who cares about women and children affected by the climate crisis.

What to bring:

• a sign to hold about why you are participating (this could be as simple as the names and ages of the children you care about)
• all weather gear (raincoat, sun lotion, layers, hat)
• something to sit on
• snacks and water, for you and your little people
