Art for Life Extinction Rebellion

Art for Climate Action Season At God’s House Tower - Art for Life: Extinction Rebellion Art Group

Saturday 20 May 2023
14:00 to 16:00

Art for Climate Action is a programme that explores the role that art has to play in encouraging people to connect with environmental issues and bring about meaningful change in perceptions and behaviours, leading to climate action and climate solutions. We believe that art has the power to make change and encourage radical thinking, enabling us to imagine and build a better future together.

Join the XR Art Group and find out how to create DIY artworks, from printing on clothes, to making flags and eye-catching posters!

Extinction Rebellion (XR) is an international movement that uses non-violent civil disobedience in an attempt to halt mass extinction and minimise the risk of social collapse due to climate change and environmental degradation. XR protests have always been colourful and distinctive, with the well-known ‘hourglass’ symbol representing the movement and imagery depicting plants, animals and the natural world. Come find out how these images are used to create DIY artworks, from printing on clothes, to making flags and patches, to eye-catching posters!

Bring your own clothes to add a block print to, make a block print patch or use existing materials to design your own placard which will be exhibited at God’s House Tower during the Art for Climate Action: Eco Art Market from Friday 17th June – Sunday 19th June.
